چکیده
Geographical isolation can often lead to speciation, and two disconnected populations of the same species living in drastically different bioclimatic regions provide an opportunity understand process speciation. The Woolly wolf is found cold-arid, Trans- Himalayan landscape, while Indian inhabits semi-arid grasslands Central India. Both lineages wolves from India have generated scientific debate on their taxonomic status recent years. In this study, we collected data reviewed published literature document ecological behavioral differences between wolf. Surgical repair of distal femoral fracture in a wild gray wolf (Canis lupus)
A 3-year-old wild gray wolf was referred to the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of ShirazUniversity with a history of car accident. The radiographic examination showed supracondylar distal femoralfracture in right leg. The wolf was pre-medicated by acepromazine followed by induction of anesthesia usinga combination of diazepam and ketamine. Anesthesia was maintained by halothane. The...

A 17-year-old female wolf (Canis lupus lupus) had a right lung mass that was adhered to the thoracic cavity. Histopathological examination revealed that the mass consisted of sheets, cord or ribbon-like structures of monotonous, small, cuboidal cells with round, oval or short-spindle nuclei and scant clear cytoplasm, demarcated by a fine fibrovascular stroma. Focal necrosis, congestion and thro...
متن کاملHypoxia Adaptations in the Grey Wolf (Canis lupus chanco) from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
The Tibetan grey wolf (Canis lupus chanco) occupies habitats on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a high altitude (>3000 m) environment where low oxygen tension exerts unique selection pressure on individuals to adapt to hypoxic conditions. To identify genes involved in hypoxia adaptation, we generated complete genome sequences of nine Chinese wolves from high and low altitude populations at an averag...
متن کاملFirst Case Report of Rabies in a Wolf (Canis Lupus Pallipes) from India
This is the first documented evidence of rabies in the Indian wolf (Canis lupus pallipes) to date. The study describes the laboratory confirmation of rabies in wolf from the southern Indian state of Karnataka by the direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) test and a direct rapid immunohistochemistry test (dRIT). The PCR amplified products of complete N and G genes of this wolf RABV were sequenced and...

Maintaining wild animals in captivity often requires chemical immobilisation to achieve various diagnostic, surgical and management interventions. Four dholes, two Indian grey wolves and four Indian jackals were immobilised using ketamine-xylazine combination for either medical or management interventions. Based on the estimated body weight, canids were darted upon with 6-8 mg kg-1 ketamine and...
